Doug has a B.S. in Economics and Management from the U. S. Coast Guard Academy. He is a full-time Web site developer and also received his real estate licenses in NC and SC years ago. He is a US Coast Guard Veteran - a former commissioned officer. He is still serving his country as a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla on Lake Hartwell and Lake Keowee, has been Flotilla Commander twice and Vice Commander once. He is also a Major in the South Carolina State Guard Reserve. Both Doug and Carol are trained in the FEMA Incident Command System.

Carol & Doug have been web designers and developers since 1994; they are the owners of Pinnacle Web Design. One of their web designs was selected national Best of the Web Runner-Up by the Coast Guard Auxiliary in 2004. They have done this along with their real estate business. They enjoy working with people to help them take their businesses to a new level with their entrepreneurial expertise.

As part of their past entrepreneurial experience, Carol and Doug developed and marketed their U.S. patented invention which has been recognized internationally.

Carol started visiting these mountain lakes as a teenager. She first started selling mountain lake real estate in 1988 and has been a broker in NC. She has also had her SC real estate license for years as well. Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Carol is the daughter of a real estate developer who built over twenty subdivisions there. She grew up in the Real Estate business! Doug and Carol have been not only business partners but have also been happily married for almost 19 years. In that time Carol and Doug have been “hands-on” in the building of their two homes. Carol was the builder overseeing and participating daily. Carol is also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Boater education and patrolling Lake Keowee and Lake Hartwell are passions of theirs.

Homes of HopeThe Pattersons team up with several ministries. Homes of Hope is one of those fine ministries. Founded by developer Tim Revis, Owner/founder of Pinnacle Real Estate, their mission is, “Homes of Hope exists to provide safe, affordable housing for homeless and low-income families or individuals, while also providing job training and mentoring for men overcoming drug and alcohol addictions.”
